Smooth transition from HSBC to NTB. Received my welcome pack a week before the transition, my RM remains the same as at HSBC, app and cards activated. The same HSBC Manager and staff are at the Pelawatte Private banking centre, while my RM is at Bambalapitiya. So far so good. Of course banking with a foreign bank has its advantages - example you can move funds from RFCs to local accounts yourself. With local banks you need to request it and if your income is in FX, its a bit of a nuisance as you need to plan and request the funds you need for local expenses. No getting around that, but so far Im happy. I think its largely because Im dealing with the same known HSBC staff whose service is very good.
